ESO: How to Become a Werewolf

In Elder Scrolls Online, you can play as a supernatural being of your choice. There are two options, Vampire and Werewolves. I specialize in Vampire builds, but that can't stop me from exploring Werewolves as well.

Becoming a werewolf in ESO is relatively easy. I made a video about the process, and you can check it out here. I also wanted to write a quick post about it just in case you're not into videos.

I chose a tiny Bosmer to play the victim. Tisha Rosewood was born for just one purpose. I wanted her to be a Wolf, and nothing more. Turns out, she does want to be my version of a Stam Sorc when she grows up, but we'll talk about that later. I turned Tisha when she was only on level 10, and that was too soon. So if you choose to become a Werewolf, don't do what I did, but instead, wait until level 30 or so to get a bite.

There are three ways to becoming a Wolf in ESO. It's pretty much the same process as with becoming a Vampire. You can either ask a friend to give you a bite, hunt for special kinds of Werewolves who only spawn at specific locations under a full moon, or purchase the Werewolf's Bite from the Crown Store. A single bite costs 1,500 crowns, which comes down to about 15 dollars. In my opinion, that's a pretty steep price, especially when you can easily get a bite for free.

If you want to gain access to the Werewolf Skill Line the hard way, you need to travel to either The Rift, Bangkorai, or Reaper's March to hunt for special kind of monsters who only spawn at night in special locations. It is rumoured that these monsters only spawn during the full moon. Catching one might prove nervewreckingly frustrating, so be prepared!

Most players take the easy way out. That's asking a friend to give you a bite.

In order to receive Hircine's Gift, you'll need to make your way to a Werewolf Shrine. You can find one in the Rift...

... Bangkorai...

... and Reaper's March.

Once your friend (or a random dude you found in a zone chat) gives you a bite, you'll find a scroll at your feet. Reading this scroll gives you access to a short quest which will introduce you to the Werewolf Skill Line.

Once you've finished the quest, you can dive into the wonderful world of Werewolves.

I hope this small tutorial helps you in becoming a wolf. Next time, I'll share with you my first impressions of playing as a Werewolf.
Until then!
Love,
Heather
